Sometimes the labs have been called “normal.” Sometimes someone has already tried dieting harder, exercising more, taking supplements, or simply pushing through. But their energy, sleep, mood, weight, libido, strength, focus, or confidence tell a different story.
I believe those changes deserve to be taken seriously.
My connection to this work became personal after having my twins. Getting pregnant required IVF, and my pregnancy was intense. I spent six weeks hospitalized before delivery, followed by another six weeks with my twins in the NICU.
Like a lot of people in survival mode, I stopped prioritizing myself. I wasn't eating well. I was exhausted and stressed. I had lost strength. I didn't feel like myself.
At the same time, I was watching my dad become progressively sicker from a genetic condition that I also carry.
That combination changed the way I thought about health. I realized I didn't need another extreme plan. I needed to start taking my own health seriously and consistently.
So I did what I now encourage my patients to do. I started with the fundamentals.
I improved my nutrition. I rebuilt strength. I worked with a functional medicine provider. I used supplements when they made sense. I addressed my hormones and focused on the habits that actually moved the needle.
Not all at once. Not perfectly. Step-by-step.
Today, I'm approaching 40, I feel strong, I have energy for my family, and I feel much more like myself again.
That's what I want for my patients. Not an unrealistic transformation story. Not perfection. Just the ability to feel strong, capable, clear-headed, confident, and at home in your body again.
